ADASP has posted an informational PDF about the Match for the 2028–29 training year (Match occurring in April 2027). This will be expanded into a full website soon. (Update 9/4/26—the dates on the PDF now appear to be out of date.)

ADASP is also providing two FAQ documents:

• FAQ for applicants

• FAQ for programs

The list of participating programs is unchanged from our earlier update and visible through our Fellowship List page.

Suggested application timeline

• Applications: Programs are encouraged to accept applications at least through January 1, 2027. Applicants should review individual program requirements. This subspecialty does not plan to use the ERAS common application.

• Interviews: Most programs will interview from January through March, 2027. Note: these timelines are suggested for reference, but individual programs are free to define their own application and interview timelines, so please visit individual program websites.

Current participation rates for the 2028–29 academic year (Match occurring in May 2027):

100% of gyn (only) fellowship programs

100% of breast (only) fellowship programs

92% of gyn/breast fellowship programs (22/24 programs with positions for 2028-9)

Next steps:

• AAPath Fellowship Directors Committee is working on a communication to resident applicants, via the PRODS and GMEAS listservs.

• Programs participating in the Match should expect to begin interviews in early 2027.

• Applicants can see the listing of Gyn and Gyn/Breast programs (including Match-participating programs) on our Fellowship List page

• There is no NRMP requirement about application deadline or interview timelines.  However, other subspecialties have found that interviews from January through March (2027) work best for the April 15, 2027 rank list submission deadline.  Earlier interviews risk applicants forgetting the strengths of your program.

• AAPath is working on a website to list participating programs and will communicate the site to applicants and programs when it launches. The information on that site should be consistent with what is shown on the GPFN site.

• The AAPath working group is preparing FAQ sheets for programs and applicants. These will be posted on their new website and linked on the GPFN site.

• Programs can expect to be asked for more program data to provide to NRMP soon.  They have not yet sent the list of information they need.
